Welcome to the UK's only club dedicated to the Breed
Member of The Poodle Council - Regulated by The Kennel Club
The Club does NOT support the inter breeding of Poodles
with other breeds nor the breeding of Parti-Colour Poodles for exhibition.
Please do not embarrass us by asking for advice on these matters.

About the Breed
Miniature Poodles will be anything you want them to be - the media perception of the breed is very misleading and not at all helpful. They are supremely intelligent, they love to play the clown yes, but they are nobody's fool.
They will happily walk miles up and down dale with you or snuggle up on the sofa when it’s raining and cold outside. Only if you are determined make them into a spoilt, overweight and pretentious lap dog will they ever become one!
They do not require a lot of exercise daily, but hugely enjoy getting out and about with their owners and having fun and adventures whenever possible. If you are not in a position to offer your Miniature Poodle much freedom he will make his own fun, running around the garden madly or even doing a few circuits of the lounge (including sofas and chairs) to let off steam when necessary.
If you want a quiet and uneventful life, think of another breed. Poodles want to ‘LIVE’ life with you . . . . and never forget they need grooming regularly. It’s a commitment - but well worth it!
About The Club
We are dedicated to promoting in every way the Miniature Poodle in the UK by helping breeders, exhibitors and enthusiasts to work together for the betterment of the Breed
with regards to it’s health, public perception and welfare.
As a Club we are geared largely to the showing exhibitor and breeder but are pleased to welcome anyone who loves the breed to our shows, especially our Open Show which is held on the first Sunday in August every year at Baginton Village Hall, near Coventry. Here we hold our annual Rescue Re-Union when we meet up with many of the dogs and owners which the Club’s Rescue Scheme has brought together since it’s inception in 2000.
We actively promote the use of DNA testing for prcd PRA which is the major inherited health risk currently known in our breed and are pleased to report that as each year passes more and more breeders are having their stock tested in this way so that we can move towards eradicating the problem in the future.
Details of this testing can be found on www.optigen.com and we strongly advise all buyers to ask to see evidence of this testing of parents before purchasing puppies.
Fifteen other Poodle Clubs are available geographically covering all three sizes of the Poodle but we remain the ONLY club solely for the Miniature Poodle - refer to www.poodlecouncil.co.uk for more information on what Clubs may be local to you.
